What are the lessons that you learned after reading the commencement address of Steve Jobs?

In the first place, I really don't like the attitude of Mr. Steve Jobs (as what he have shown on the movie entitled "Pirates of the Silicon Valley"). But when I read the commencement address of Steve Jobs, I realized his true characteristics and his beliefs in life.

In his commencement address, he mentioned three stories of his life and the first story was about "connecting the dots". We really cannot connect the dots looking forward, instead we connect them through looking backwards. Everything that is happening in our present has a purposes indeed. We don't mind of what we are doing today but as days grow older, we realized the worth of it. His first story also tackled about trusting in everything you do. I should not be afraid of facing trials in life.

His second story was about love and loss.

Steve Jobs had a strong determination. Despite of all failures, he never gave up. Instead of blaming himself for being fired of his own company, he continued in doing things that he really loved. He started his own company again which led him to be back in Apple. His second story really inspired me. I learned that I have got find what I truly love and if I don't found it yet? Keep looking, don't give up!

"Don't count on what you lost. Instead cherish what you have and plan what to gain.
The past never returns but the future may fulfill the loss."

His third story was about death.

"If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?”

That was the line that made me realized again that life is not permanent. As a human living, I should cherish all the moments together with my friends and family. Life is too short. Our time is limited and don't waste our time just to sleep. I must live in my dreams now and I should do all the things as long as I'm alive.

I learned a lot of things by reading the commencement address of Steve Jobs. I don't know Jobs totally, but I knew him as a determining person who had a brave heart and he really inspired me through his stories.

We cannot say that we are useless because we all have purposes in life. We are not just born in this cruel world to do foolishness but to do our purposes. Only ourselves could know or discover the reasons of our existence.

In the 18 years of existence, I discovered my purposes of living in this world. As an older sister in the family, I know my responsibilities like helping them in terms of financial needs. My parents strives hard for us to sustain all our needs. Therefore, my purpose for now is to finished my studies (no matter what happen) so that I can help my parents in sustaining their studies of my siblings as well as the needs of our family. I study hard not only for myself but also for my family. I want to pay all the hardworks that my parents have made. I want to have a happy and wealthy life.

Here are some of my simple purposes in life (LOL).

First, is to make other people happy. I will make them happy in my own simple ways. All I ever wanted is to see a happy and smiling face. If they are happy, then I am happy also for their happiness (LOL).

My other purpose is to be happy. Everybody wants happiness. So KEEP LAUGHING, KEEP SMILING and KEEP SHINING.

I was born to love. I love everything that I am having right now. I love my family, friends and even to my enemies. Unconsciously, because of love that I felt for them? They become my strength in facing trials in life. So LOVE LOVE LOVE!

If I was born to love, then I was also born to be loved. I was very happy of having people around my world. Some of them went away while others return. I thank all the people who love me truly. * smiles *

I am here to appreciate all the things that God has been created. I appreciate all the love, efforts and cares of my family, friends etc. I appreciate even the simplest things that I have seen in this world because I know every creature that we have seen has purposes in this world as me.
